Material description:
Lining: 60% rayon and 40% polyester from White Butterfly
Outer fabric: 100% mulberry silk Song brocade
Song brocade originated in the Spring and Autumn period and was formed in the Song Dynasty. Later, when people talked about brocade, they would always mention Song brocade, which is why it got its name. It was later given the title of “the crown of Chinese brocade”. Among traditional Chinese fabrics, it can be considered a top-level existence. The production process of Song brocade is rather complex, with the main feature of both warp and weft threads showing patterns. In terms of patterns and designs, they are symmetrical, rigorous yet varied, rich and colorful, and flowing and vivid.
Color description: Mica
The mica color, which was widely used in the Dunhuang murals a thousand years ago, has a quiet and gentle temperament. In ancient paintings, mica color was used to depict the flowing silver fish, the hazy mist, the serene snow scene, and the flickering lights… Li Shangyin even used the lines “The screen of mica and the candlelight are deep, the Milky Way is gradually setting and the morning stars are sinking” to express his pity for Chang’e on the Mid-Autumn Festival. The mica color, when combined with the heavy satin Song brocade, exudes a mysterious and dynamic charm.
Pattern description: Pine tree pattern
The pine tree pattern is a common traditional pattern with rich cultural connotations and symbolic meanings.
In Chinese traditional culture, the pine tree is regarded as a symbol of longevity and health, often praised as “longevity like the pine trees on the southern mountain”. The characteristics of the pine tree pattern usually include the depiction of old, twisted but strong pine trunks, and pine needles arranged like fans. It has a masculine beauty, with the branches being soft yet strong, and the clusters of pine needles not only give people a sense of detachment but also reflect the refined taste of scholars.
