Jiangyong Nüshu is the only female script in the world at present. In 2006, the custom of Nüshu was included in the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. This wild rose growing in the deep mountains of culture has gradually come into the public view. Hu Xin, a girl born in the 1980s, has been connected with Nüshu since she was 8 years old. From then on, she has become the director of the Nüshu Ecological Museum. For more than 20 years, she has been rooted in her hometown, standing firm on the front line of the inheritance and protection of local culture, learning, researching and spreading Nüshu culture.

Nüshu is currently the only writing system exclusively used by women in the world.

Hu Xin, an inheritor of Nüshu, introduced: "Nüshu is extremely unique and one-of-a-kind. It exists only in China, and only in 18 villages across 4 towns in Jiangyong, Hunan Province. Its circulation is very limited."

Nüshu is a phonetic script that is pronounced in the local dialect. It has only over 500 commonly used characters, yet it can express all the meanings of Chinese in daily life through pronunciation. The characters of Nüshu are tall on the right and short on the left, in a slanted diamond shape, and are composed of only a few basic strokes such as horizontal, vertical, dot and slant. When writing, it is done from right to left and top to bottom, stroke by stroke, delicate and elegant.

Hu Xin, a female script inheritor, said, "Many people find the female script very beautiful at first sight. Each character is as graceful as a woman's figure."
